World Hydrography Day
World Hydrography Day is the best day to determine how hydrography acts in science to support the sustainable use of the oceans. This adds up -to -date surveys and data that can be used for the launch of marine environmental protection, protected sea zones, coastal areas, renewable energies, marine space data infrastructure and all Other components of the blue economy.
Objectives of World Hydrography Day 2022
World Hydrography Day, was adopted by the international hydrographic organization as an annual celebration to raise awareness of the work of hydrographs and the importance of hydrography. This day draws people’s attention to IHO work at the international level. It is also celebrated by many countries to work jointly to save the marine environment and seek security in international navigation in the world.
History of World Hydrography Day 2022
The United Nations General Assembly had accepted the resolution to celebrate World Hydrography Day on June 21, 2005. The special day has been organized by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) since 2006 to publish the work of hydrographs and the importance of hydrography.
World Hydrography Day 2022 Theme
The theme of this year is “Hydrography – contributing to the decade of the United Nations Ocean”. WHD offers opportunities to publish the work and services manufactured by national hydrographic offices, expert contributors, industry partners and the scientific community. Everyone can take this celebration, new organizations are invited to move to the secretariat of all the documents they provide as support for their WHD celebrations to be published on IHO online communication points. This may include images, videos or even articles.
