Adani Ports handles a record 100 mmt cargo in just 99 days
Apsez reached this record volume on July 8, 2022. This milestone was significant because it showed Apsez’s rapidly increased efficiency, which needed one year to reach a 100 mmt fy2014 cargo volume.“In 2021, we declared our ambition to emerge as the largest private port company in the world and the largest integrated transportation utility in India in 2030,” said Karan Adani, CEO and Director of all Apsez time.
“When the Apsez operation stretches five ports, it takes 14 years for companies to reach 100 mmt throughnput annual cargo. In the next five years and with operations in nine ports, Apsez doubles the cargo throughput to 200 mmt. We then reached a milestone of 300 mmt in just three in three year. We are now ready to foster our cargo volume by 60 percent to 500 mmt in 2025 and emerged as the largest port operator in the world in 2030. “
Apsez’s ability to deal with 100 mmt cargo volume in less than one third when compared to the time taken in 2014 was driven by technology -based innovations to integrate conventional business processes with new age digital technology. Another main factor that has catalyzed the high point of Apsez’s cargo is an increase in efficiency in the management of fleet and fuel, asset monitoring, mobility, operational intelligence and application performance monitoring.
Apsez has set a target of 500 mmt throughput cargo in 2025. In pursuing this goal, companies consistently increase cargo throughput from year to year. It reached a 100 mmt cargo throughput in 109 days last year. Cargo growth is currently supported by a 12 y-O-y leap in June 2022 at 31.88 MMT.
Coal volume continues to show a strong recovery of 25 percent from the previous year. Compared to the previous year, other key segments that had caused this monthly surge were rough at 17 percent and containers of 6 percent. With a monthly growth volume of 21 percent, Mundra led the record performance was followed by Hazira, Kattupalli & Ennore combined, and Dahej.
